Behind the Making
I think a lot about what goes into making and packing your order — not just how it looks, but what it's made of and where it comes from. This page is my way of being upfront about that. Some of the materials I use have genuine eco credentials I'm proud of. Others are practical choices I'm still working on improving. I'd rather tell you both than only show you the good stuff.
This page is a living document. As my supplier list grows and changes, I'll update it here.
The Materials I Make With
-
Fellowes - Laminating pouches
- Plastic-based (working on an alternative)
Used for certain laminated items. These are plastic-based — I haven't found an eco-friendly alternative that meets the quality I need yet, but it's something I'm actively looking into.
-
Francheville - Card stock
- No eco claim
The card stock I use for prompt cards, bookmark backs, and membership cards. I haven't been able to verify specific eco credentials for this supplier yet. I'll update this when I have more information.
- No eco claim
-
Quill Design Paper - Letter paper
- Acid-free
- FSC Certified
The paper I write your snail mail letters on. FSC certification means it comes from responsibly managed forests — trees used are replaced, and wildlife habitats are protected. Acid-free means your letters won't yellow or deteriorate over time.
-
Avarrix - Sticker vinyl & self-adhesive laminating sheets
- Supports Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife
Avarrix donates 25 cents from every product purchased to the Foundation for National Parks and Wildlife (FNPW), which works to restore and maintain Australia's native flora and fauna. So every sticker in your order contributes to protecting Australian wilderness.
How Your Order is Packed
-
TBC - Envelopes
- Supplier to be confirmed
I'm still finalising my envelope supplier. I'll update this once confirmed and note any eco credentials here.
-
BuyEcoGreen - Tissue paper
- 100% recycled
Your order is wrapped in soft ivory tissue paper made from 100% recycled materials. It happens to be almost exactly the Page Cream from Pho's Creations' colour palette, which wasn't planned, but felt very right.
-
Supr Pack - Glassine bags
- 100% wood pulp
- Home compostable
Small items like sticker sheets are tucked into glassine bags, a plastic-free alternative to cellophane. Made from 100% wood pulp, fully biodegradable, and home compostable. Just remove any stickers or labels first and pop them in your compost bin.
-
BuyEcoGreen - Cardboard backer
- Recycled
Every order includes a recycled cardboard backer to keep your prints, bookmarks, and cards flat in transit. No bent corners, no sad art prints.
I've tried to be as specific as possible on this page because "eco-friendly" can mean anything, and I'd rather tell you exactly what something is made of than make a claim I can't back up. Where I don't have information, I've said so. Where something isn't the most sustainable option, I've said that too. If you have questions or suggestions, I'd genuinely love to hear from you at hello@phoscreations.store.
